See Daring Fireball for plenty of claim chowder about the new iPad.
When launching the new iPad and iOS 5.1 the absolute best thing Apple did for developers was… doing nothing (or at least not doing too much).
We gained a retina diaplay, but developers already know about @2x.png files. Everything else will just make your App run faster.
iOS 5.1 has so few API changes its hard to see how they justified a whole 0.1 increase. But this is good news. Apple software has struggled in the last few months to maintain the quality users have come to expect.
Apple seem to be increasing the frequency of software updates but decreasing the scope. This appeals to my agile and lean tendencies. To this end I expect Apple to release plenty more 0.1 updates over the next year, but don’t expect iOS 6, 5.2 is only a few months away (probably).
