Monitors for iOS Developers (UPDATED)
Update Thanks to Tom Gidden for pointing out the Hazro HZ30Wi. I also discovered another NEC, the delightfully named LCD3090WQXi.
When the iPad 3 is announced next week it will sport a 2048 × 1536 retina display. That’s a lot more pixels than most people have access to, even developers. So here is a list of monitors you can treat yourself too.
Monitors have be become commodity product, consequently your choices will be limited an d prices will be high. However, if you want to fit a full sized 2048 × 1536 simulator on screen, 30” is about your only option.
THATS IT! After countless searches returning the same 4 monitors, I gave up. Not much of a choice and you can forget upgrading for £250, these are top of the line and will set you back the best part of £2000.
Notice the lack of Apple displays? Apple did produce a 30”, 2560 x 1600 but it was discontinued on July 26, 2010.
If I’ve missed a monitor or two, feel free to find me on the Twitter.
